Excursion to the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the course "Archaeology"

 

Teacher Idrissova A.M. from the Department of History of Kazakhstan named after Academician T.S. Sadykov, Institute of History and Law at Abay University, organized a series of excursions to the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the course "Archaeology". From October 2 to October 14, 2023, first-year students from specialties 6B01606 "History-Geography" (101, 102 groups), 6B01602 "History-Religious Studies", and 6В01610 "History-Social Studies" (103 group) had the opportunity to visit the museum.

 

The students were accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who introduced them to the exhibits of the Archaeological Exhibition Complex, which includes sections on the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Early Iron Age, Xiongnu-Sarmatian era, and the Middle Ages. During the excursion, students had the chance to see archaeological objects discovered in Kazakhstan through numerous archaeological expeditions. They also had the opportunity to view replicas of valuable finds such as the "Golden Man" from the Issyk mound, ancient gold items from the Kargaly and Zhalaulinsky treasures, reconstructions of ancient burial structures and outbuildings, models of medieval architecture, and colorful dioramas illustrating the ancient history of the Earth. These excursions aimed to instill a sense of national identity and a thirst for knowledge about the history and culture of Kazakhstan in the students.
